Awareness and interated approach to climate change in engineering design<\/h1>\n

Climate change is already reshaping how we design cities and water infrastructure. The increasing intensity of weather events, greater uncertainty in climate data, and the rising vulnerability of urban systems are requiring a fundamental shift in engineering design approaches. Relying solely on historical data is no longer sufficient: future climate scenarios, new indicators, and more resilient design strategies must be incorporated into planning and infrastructure sizing.<\/p>\n

On March 30<\/strong>, Montana will take part in a workshop<\/strong> organized by the Order of Engineers of Milan<\/strong>, focusing precisely on how climate change can be integrated into engineering design processes.<\/p>\n

During our presentation, we will address climate change and design rainfall<\/strong>, examining how evolving climate dynamics are altering the assumptions traditionally used to size infrastructure, protect critical assets, and manage hydraulic risk.<\/p>\n

At Montana, we believe that addressing climate change requires going beyond conventional drainage solutions. It means analyzing climate data in depth<\/strong>, understanding future scenarios<\/strong>, and designing systems capable of adapting<\/strong>, mitigating impacts<\/strong>, restoring natural water cycles<\/strong>, and generating environmental value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We address climate change through an applied, interdisciplinary approach: we explore innovative Nature-Based Solutions, integrate them with hybrid engineering approaches, and rigorously evaluate where, how, and to what extent they can deliver tangible results. We believe that water should not be regarded merely as a risk to manage, but as a strategic resource capable of creating environmental, territorial, and design value.<\/p>\n
